What is the e-Library?
The e-Library gives library users a way to find items in our collections without having to go to the shelf and look at each book, movie, or cd one-by-one.
In the past you may have heard a librarian call our e-Library an OPAC (Online Public Access Catalog) or the online catalog, but we try not to do that any more. While in many ways the e-Library is like an old-style card catalog, but there are many differences other than being accessible online.
With integrated reviews, author biographies, and book cover images, the e-Library can give you more information about the materials we have in our collections than a old card catalog ever could.
The e-Library gives up-to-the-minute status information on our materials, so you can tell if an item is available to check out before going to the shelves or going to the library for that matter.
You can reserve an item you find in the e-Library by placing a hold, tell us what branch library you would like to pick it up at, and see what holds are available for you to pick up when you have checked when you log in to your account in the e-Library.
The e-Library can also help you manage the items you check out by telling you what you currently have checked out, when your items are due, what's overdue, and how much you may owe in fines.
