Our goal is to make the information in our library systems available in standard formats that are device-independent while maintaining the security of your personal information.
KCPL does not have a custom mobile application that gives users access to all library services but there is a growing suite of service-specific applications available to our patrons with mobile devices.
BookMyne™
Now KCPL users can use BookMyne™ on their iPhones to search our collections and manage their library accounts. With BookMyne you will find many of the features that are already familiar to our e-Library users:
Get information about music, movies, and books in our collections, including current availability, author biographies, professional reviews, book summaries, and chapter excerpts.
Scan product UPC codes with your iPhone's camera to see if whatever catches your eye is available at the library.
Place holds on library materials and have them delivered to any of our branch locations.
See what you have on hold, checked out or overdue. If you have fines, BookMyne will tell you how much they are and why you owe them.
To download titles from our collection of online audiobooks, video, music and eBooks available through the WVDeli you need to install the Overdrive Media Console, which is available in a variety of mobile versions
AccessMyLibrary is an iPhone ® application that will give you access to any of the premium resources KCPL makes available to its patrons from Gale Cengage Learning, including
RedLaser is a comparison shopping application for the iPhone ® that provides information about the availability of a book or other library item. To use it, you take a picture of the item's UPC/bar code with your phone's camera.
When you "scan" a book in this way, the app will search known retail inventories for the title and return all known locations and prices. We have configured KCPL's collection so RedLaser can search it too. Find a book in the store, scan the UPC, and the app will let you know if we have the book. Remember, our price is always free.
All of KCPL's services should work in your mobile device's web browser but some are specially designed to make pages viewed this way more usable.
Mobile interfaces for Ebsco products
Two specially designed interfaces from Ebsco are available to KCPL patrons with their library card number and PIN.
