9. Controversial Materials

In an effort to provide patrons with diverse sources of information and the widest possible range of ideas and viewpoints, the Library should acquire some unpopular and controversial materials. It is the belief of the Library's Board of Directors that the Library has a right and a duty to keep on its shelves a representative selection of materials on subjects of interest including print and/or non print items representing all sides of controversial questions. Library materials will not be marked or identified to show approval or disapproval of their contents. No library material will be sequestered except to protect it from damage or theft.
