back to page menuThe Friends of The Library Foundation of Kanawha County are seeking donations of gift baskets with a literary theme for their annual silent auction fundraiser. Each basket must contain at least one book, movie or music CD, with other items added to fit the theme.
The Friends are collecting baskets, items to be included in baskets or cash donations for A Tisket, A Tasket...A Literary Basket, which will be held Saturday, April 20, 6 p.m. at NiSource Gas Transmission. Attendees will have the opportunity to bid on dozens of baskets with a literary theme.
Last year the event raised more than $31,000 for the library. With proceeds from the 2012 event, the Friends of the Library Foundation provided support for the summer reading program, sponsored children's authors at the WV Book Festival and purchased Summer Library Club t-shirts for nearly 2,000 children who completed the reading program.
