Ways to Give
There are many ways that individuals, foundations, corporations and organizations can support the Open a Modern Classic Capital Campaign. These include:
Credit Card Gifts
The Library Foundation of Kanawha County, Inc. is now accepting most major credit cards which you may choose to use as your method of payment for gifts toward the Open a Modern Classic capital campaign or any other contribution to the Foundation.

Outright Cash Gifts
Gifts of cash may be made in a single payment or as a multi-year pledge (up to five years). The donor designates the annual payment date on a pledge card, which may be obtained by the office of Marketing & Development at the Kanawha County Public Library.
Gifts of Appreciated Securities
Leadership pledges are fequently paid with long-term capital gain securities. Gifts of securities often provide donors with attractive income tax benefits. Appreciated assets enable donors to leverage their philanthropic commitments significantly. Donors can either sign over stock papers or arrange for an electronic stock transfer.
Corporate Matching Gifts
You or your spouse may work for a company or serve on a corporate board that has a matching gift program. Donors who work for such a company can double, or sometimes triple, their contribution. Please contact your company's human resources office to determine if your company has a matching gifts program and how you can leverage your personal gift to the library campaign.
Planned Gifts
Planned gifts to the Campaign will leave a lasting legacy for the library. Common types of planned gifts include:
- Bequests
- Pooled income funds
- Charitable gift annuity
- Charitable remainder unitrust
- Life insurance
Naming Opportunities
Donors who wish to leave a lasting legacy to the library system can make a significant gift that permanently names either a component of the new main library or one of the branch libraries. Please see our list of naming opportunities for more information.

Is my Campaign gift tax deductible?
The Library Foundation of Kanawha County, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Therefore contributions are tax deductible to the extent permitted by law. Please speak with your accountant if you need to determine the level of tax deductibility of your gift.
What if I make a contribution and this project does not come to fruition?
Rest assured…this project will become a reality!
