The St. Albans Branch Advisory Board is proud to present St. Albans Writes, a monthly speaker series featuring local authors. Joan McAteir, now retired, was employed as a secretary by the C&O Railway Company for many years. She whetted her interest in writing by participating in a writer's group at the St. Albans Library. Her novel, "Willows Where It Happened," concerns the coming of age of young Meggie Sullivan, growing up amongst greed, gossip and murder in a small Appalachian town during post World War II. Mrs. McAteir will be available after her presentation to sell and sign her book.
