Anyone of any age who lives, works, or attends school in West Virginia is eligible for a library card. Please print out the Patron Registration form (PDF), fill it out, and then bring it to any KCPL library or the Mobile Library.
You will be required to present one form of current identification with an address. Acceptable forms of identification include the following:
Your free card provides you with access to the largest and most varied public library collection in the state and some school libraries. There is no minimum age requirement, but you will need to provide proof of your home address. Your first library card/key tag is free. There is a $1 charge for a replacement card.
Your account is maintained unless closed at your request or unused for five years. In order to ensure quality service, we regularly check with you to keep your account information current.
Written authorization is required for the library to share information about an account in other circumstances not prescribed by the library's policy or state law – including when a custodial parent or legal guardian of a child under the age of 18 wants to review or share information about their child's account and when a patron age 18 or older wants to share information about their account with another adult.
