Request an Item from Another Library?

KCPL patrons may request an interlibrary loan by contacting their local library. If the item is available in the state of West Virginia, there is no postage fee. However, if the item is ordered from a library outside of West Virginia, the patron must pay postage.

If the item is lost or damaged while it is checked out on the patron's card, the patron is responsible for the cost of the item and any processing fees that are associated with it. If the item is ordered and not picked up, the patron is responsible for any fees or postage that they agreed to when making the request. As with KCPL-owned materials, the patron's card will be blocked for overdues until they are resolved.
