KCPL Family Read Aloud Club

Mother reading to child

KCPL's Family Read Aloud Club is a program inviting parents to read aloud to their children during the school year. The aim of the program is two-fold: for families to spend quality time together and to promote lifelong literacy. Registering for the program is as simple as A, B, C! - just visit your local library to enroll in the program. You will then receive your game sheet and program guidelines. The Family Read Aloud Club begins October 13, 2008 and families will have until March 31, 2009 to read up to 18 books. Rewards of the program, in addition to those mentioned above, include receiving as many as 3 free books and participating in a special library after hours celebration to be held at the Dunbar Branch Library on April 17, 2009 from 6 p.m to 9 p.m. For more information, please contact the Children's Department at the Main Library in Charleston (343-4646) or your local branch library.
