KCPL Family Read Aloud Club

Mother reading to child

KCPL’s Family Read Aloud Club is a program inviting parents to read aloud to their children during the school year. The aim of the program is two-fold: for families to spend quality time together and to promote lifelong literacy. Registering for the program is as simple as A, B, C! Just visit your local library to enroll. You will receive a game sheet and program guidelines. Your family will have until March 31, 2011 to read up to 18 books. Rewards of the program, in addition to those mentioned above, include receiving as many as three free books and participating in a special library after hours’ celebration to be held at the Dunbar Branch Library on April 29, 2011 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. For more information, please contact the Children’s Department at the Main Library in Charleston at 304-343-4646.
