Storytimes

The Kanawha County Public Library believes that you are your child's most important teacher. KCPL offers storytime programs to help your child develop reading and literacy skills that are fundamental building blocks for success in school. These include reading, language and listening skills and all are found in a KCPL Storytime. Check the Calendar of Events for a list of programs at your local library.

Storytime Offerings

Born to Read — a story program for ages birth to 36 months
Books-N-More — a Storytime for children ages 3-5
Family Funtime — a Storytime for the entire family

Enhance the Storytime Experience

• Participating in the Storytime activities with your child
• Repeating the songs and fingerplays at home with your child
• Talking with your child about the stories and books that were shared
• Checking out books after the Storytime and allowing your child to help select these books
• Asking a library staff member for help in finding books of special interest to your child
• Reading to your child every day!
