Festivall Annual arts event featuring jazz and bluegrass music; dance and theater performances and a street fair. Held in early summer.

Sternwheel Regatta A four-day festival at the end of August. Unique local food and music, boat rides and a variety of other river-centered events. Held along the river on Kanawha Boulevard.

Vandalia Gathering Traditional Appalachian musicians gather for a weekend of concerts and jam sessions on their fiddles, mandolins, guitars and banjos. West Virginia food and crafts featured. Held at Capitol Complex around Memorial Day.

West Virginia Book Festival For book lovers of all ages and interests; authors, publishers, book vendors, the Festival Marketplace, a special section just for children, used book sale, meet the author events, workshops and panel discussions. Held in October at the Charleston Civic Center.
