Beginning Beekeeping
Have you always wanted to learn about keeping honeybees? Now is your chance! In this class you will learn the basics of beekeeping from instructor Laura Nabb. This beginning class with be offered twice, on Friday, Oct. 6 and Saturday, Oct. 7. You may attend either day. Registration requested. Call the library for more information.

Cross Lanes Library Summer Pool Parties
The Cross Lanes Recreational Pool Association will be sponsoring three different pool parties for the Cross Lanes Library over the summer. These fundraisers will be at the CLRA Pool at 5447 Big Tyler Road. Please mark your summer calendars for these events! Thanks to the CLRA Pool for the use of their facilities and personnel for this fundraiser. Part of the proceeds will be going to the Cross Lanes Library Advisory Board to meet our library's community assessment.

Do you like twisted tales? Do you like to write? Then enter our Fractured Fairy Tales event! Take any fairy tale, from any culture or time period, and rewrite it in a twisted way. It can be funny, told from the perspective of the villain, or maybe a mash-up of a few of your favorite fairy tale characters in a new adventure.
Authors must be ages 11-18. All writing must be your own work. Minimum 1,000 words. Maximum 2,500. All stories will be posted on the Teen Zone page. E-mail stories to Melissa.adkins@kanawhalibrary.org along with a release form(on the Teen web page) so we can post your story. All entries will receive a prize from the Teen Prize Vault.
