School Supply Exchange It's that time of year again - back to school! That means it's time to purchase school supplies, but first, drop by the Elk Valley Branch Library to see if we can assist you with that. Do you have a stack of folders you'll never use again? Drop them off at the library. Need a pack of pencils or crayons? Take them with you! Throughout the month of August, drop off/pick up any school supplies you need/want. Supplies left over at the end of August will be donated to area schools.

Space I-Spy Help us celebrate the 100th birthday of West Virginia native Katherine Johnson, former NASA mathematician and recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom by playing our I-SPY SPACE game. Search the Children's Department for space and aeronautic pictures. Once you've found all the pictures, turn in your game sheet at the desk and choose a prize from our treasure chest!

Adult Crafternoon: String Art Wall Decor Enjoy an afternoon of crafting and time with friends. This month we will make a string art wall hanging. Please bring your own small hammer. We will only have a limited amount for use. Registration will begin on Tuesday, August 7, 2018. There is a limit of 12 participants, therefore registration is required.

Mall Book Group Join us at the Charleston Town Center Panera Bread on the last Wednesday of every month, 11:30 a.m. to discuss a different book. For August's meeting, we will talk about "A Piece of the World" by Christina Baker Kline. Copies of the book will be available to check out at the Main Library Reference Desk. Ukes Unite! Calling all ukulele players, those who wish they could play, and those who have the instrument and would like a place to meet other enthusiasts! Bring your ukulele to the Elk Valley Branch Library for an informal gathering of those who love the mellow sound of this stringed instrument. The first meeting in August will be an informational session to gauge interest in scheduling a regular meeting time.
