Playgroup at the Library All the fun of a traditional playgroup, but none of the fuss! A great opportunity for children to play and interact under caregivers' supervision. Drop in to socialize with other families and play with age appropriate toys. We provide the toys and clean up the mess, and you need only to provide the energetic youngster!

2018 Quilt Display: Remembering a Friend: A Retrospective of the Artistry of Barbara Lantz The Kanawha Valley Quilters honor one of their best quilters with a special display of her quilts on the first floor beginning June 14 through early September.

Tiny Tots Storytime Storytime program for ages 18-36 months. Toddlers and caregivers will enjoy books, stories, songs, rhymes, and much more in this interactive program ending with a collaborative activity. Afterwards, stay, play, and socialize in our children's play area.

School Supply Exchange It's that time of year again - back to school! That means it's time to purchase school supplies, but first, drop by the Elk Valley Branch Library to see if we can assist you with that. Do you have a stack of folders you'll never use again? Drop them off at the library. Need a pack of pencils or crayons? Take them with you! Throughout the month of August, drop off/pick up any school supplies you need/want. Supplies left over at the end of August will be donated to area schools.

Space I-Spy Help us celebrate the 100th birthday of West Virginia native Katherine Johnson, former NASA mathematician and recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom by playing our I-SPY SPACE game. Search the Children's Department for space and aeronautic pictures. Once you've found all the pictures, turn in your game sheet at the desk and choose a prize from our treasure chest!

Summer Library Club Celebration! Celebrate the end of Summer Library Club with this free drop-in program for families!
