Silent Basket Auction Come in and see more than twenty beautiful book baskets that you can bid on silently to win from December 6-13 at 3:00 pm, when bidding ends. You can always check on your bid by phone (304-776-5999) or in person during the week in case you need to increase your bidding amount! All proceeds go to the Cross Lanes Library Programming Fund.

Let's Get Cooking! Do you love cooking and looking at different cookbooks and recipes? Let’s Get Cooking meets the second Thursday of every month at 6 p.m. in the Dunbar Branch Library. To participate: 1. Check out a cookbook that fits the monthly theme (call or stop by to get the theme). 2. Bring a sample of the recipe you made to the meeting to share with others. 3. At the meeting, we will eat, discuss and review the cookbooks and recipes.

Family Mixed-Media Art Workshop What better way for families to celebrate together than by creating their own mixed-media art in celebration of the beloved picture book, "The Very Hungry Caterpillar"? Local artist Debi Ellis (https://www.debiellis.com/) will help your family create your own masterpiece using paint and collage materials. Work together and have fun! Limit of 20 participants with children being ages 5 & up. Registration opens on December 1. Please allow approximately 2 hours per session. Rescheduled from November 6.

Holiday Open House Get in the holiday mood at the Main Library’s Annual Holiday Open House & stay for the Christmas Parade! Activities for all ages are planned. The Kanawha Kordsmen will be performing at 5:45pm. Enjoy cookies & punch on the first floor of the library before the parade. Activities include a visit with the Snow Queen and the Ice Princess, a display of I Love Peace entries, holiday crafts, and photos courtesy of Picture This WV. All refreshments are provided courtesy of The Friends of The Library Foundation.

Giving Tree The holiday toy and clothing drive is now underway! Cross Lanes Branch Library is partnering with Tyler Mountain Cross Lanes Community Services to match children with sponsors. Tags listing a child's needs will be available at the Cross Lanes Branch Library. All gifts need to be returned to the library by Noon on December 13.
