Grant Writing Basics Workshop with Alice Ruhnke Join Alice Ruhnke of The Grant Advantage for a 4-hour workshop that will cover all the different components of grant writing. Alice is responsible for creating, developing, and managing The Grant Advantage, a progressive and innovative consulting business based in Charleston. The Grant Advantage is devoted to advancing the mission of nonprofit organizations, faith-based organizations, and educational institutions through fund development. Alice has raised several million dollars writing federal, state, foundation, and corporate grants and has been in charge of awarding and monitoring federal funds to nonprofit organizations throughout West Virginia. This program is part of our 2018 nonprofit and grant writing program series which runs March-July. Registration is required for this program and opens March 14, 2018.

Full STEM Ahead: Sticky Science Who says learning has to be boring? You'll find out it's NOT boring when you join us for some STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) fun. This month we will explore and make sticky concoctions. We will add a twist to traditional play sand and make it moldable. We are also going to take those seasonal marshmallow treats and make play dough. Come dressed to make a mess and have fun!

Cross Lanes Book Discussion Group The Cross Lanes Library Book Group will be discussing "Before the Fall" by Noah Hawley. A struggling artist becomes a hero twice—first by saving a young boy’s life, then by outsmarting the anchor of a Fox-like conservative TV network. The books are provided by the Kanawha County Public Library system and will be available for checkout four weeks before the discussion date.
