The Foreign Policy Association's Great Decisions Discussion 2018 Join us the third Monday of each month through November for the Foreign Policy Association’s Great Decisions Discussion. This national program is designed to engage citizens in learning about the world, and it emphasizes discussion and active participation from those attending. Each participant gets briefing books that feature impartial, thought-provoking analyses on eight issues of concern to U.S. policymakers today and will then be asked to report, either individually or as part of a group, on a specific topic. This month's topic is Russia's Foreign Policy. Everyone welcome.

PALS Book Club This book club was formed especially for seniors by Highmark PALS (People Able to Lend Support) in order to bring older adults together for a literary challenge and social interaction. The groups meet once a month except in December. If you are eligible for Medicare, are interested in making new friends and enjoy discussing new books, contact your local library for more information. This month's title is "We are Completely Beside Ourselves" by Karen Joy Fowler.

Star Party to Celebrate Yuri's Night Meet members of the Kanawha Valley Astronomical Society and peer through their personal telescopes and their large telescope to see the night sky like you've never seen it before! The Kanawha County Public Library system will be hosting this event which will take place at the KVAS Breezy Point Observatory which is on the grounds of Camp Virgil Tate. Must see displays and crafts will be in the Lower Level of the Maxwell Lodge. Please register online at kanawhalibrary.org or by calling 304-776-5999. In case weather conditions arise and we need to cancel this event, we will be able to contact you. Rain date for this event will be May 19, 2018.
