St. Albans Writes: Becky Kelly Becky Kelly is an artist and an illustrator of thousands of products including gift books, greeting cards, calendars, children's and baby's products. Ms. Kelly has won numerous awards for her work including the Distinguished Achievement Award from the Association of Educational Publishers. She will sell her book after the presentation.

Basket Weaving Class Come join us for a two-part workshop on basket weaving. This program is perfect for Mother's Day! Come and create a handmade basket with the help of master basket weaver, Jan Hensley. The cost of the class is $25 per person, or $35 per pair. This includes all supplies for the two baskets. AARP Driver Safety Course (Two 4-hour sessions) On November 2 and 3rd, the Cross Lanes Library will host the standard AARP Driver Safety 8-hour course in two 4-hour/day sessions. A course fee is payable to “AARP” by check ($15 for AARP members, or $20 for non-members) due the first day of class. Receiving an AARP Driver Safety Course certificate may earn you a discount with your car insurance company. Please contact Brandon Huffman at State Farm to register for this class - 304-776-8000.

Grant Writing Basics with Alice Ruhnke Join Alice Ruhnke of The Grant Advantage for a 4-hour workshop that will cover all the different components of grant writing. Alice is responsible for creating, developing, and managing The Grant Advantage, a progressive innovative consulting business based in Charleston devoted to advancing the mission of nonprofit organizations, faith-based organizations, and educational institutions through fund development. Alice has raised several million dollars writing federal, state, foundation, and corporate grants and has been in charge of awarding and monitoring federal funds to nonprofit organizations throughout West Virginia. This program is part of our 2017 nonprofit and grant writing program series which runs February-June. Registration is required for this program and opens April 12, 2017.
