Preserving Your Memories with StoryCorps Have you ever wanted to record a family history or even something a little less daunting like a conversation with a family member or friend about an important event or memory? Would you like to preserve the voice, lessons or advice of a loved one for future generations - even for yourself? Jennifer Sias, a professor at Marshall University and lover of oral histories and storytelling, will teach you how to preserve those memories using a free app called StoryCorps. She will explain what StoryCorps is and include footage of some of the interviews that have been conducted of ordinary people by ordinary people in all walks of life, like you and me. Just bring a smartphone (like an iPhone or any other model that allows you to download an app) with you. For more information about the StoryCorps Project go to https://storycorps.org/.

Make bird houses, creations with spaghetti noodles, newpapers, toothpicks, craft sticks, and so much more. Make sure to bring your imagination, and get ready for some fun.

Storytime at the Park Join us for a special storytime event at Coonskin Park. A storytime program will be presented at 10:30 AM, near the main play area in the park. In addition, KCPL’s Mobile Library will offer make-n-take crafts for kids of all ages while at the park. The Mobile Library will be at Coonskin Park from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM.

Teen Book Club If you love reading and enjoy talking about your favorite books, come join us! This group will meet once a month to discuss a new book that the group will choose to read each month. At the end of the meeting, we will pick a new book to read for the following month. We will meet on the third Thursday of every month, at 4 p.m.

There's only one left and it's safely locked up in the library, until the zombies start breaking down the door to devour it.
