Who Said That? Children's Book Quotes Are you a whiz at children's literature? Test your knowledge by identifying from which well-known children's books various quotes came. Participate in this interactive activity once a week throughout the month of November. Each week new quotes will be featured. Participants will be entered in a drawing for a prize at the end of the month.

Ornament and Card Making Workshop Patrons will be using skills learned all year to make ornaments and cards. There will be sewing, crochet, and watercolor plastic painted ornaments.

Playgroup at the Library All the fun of a traditional playgroup but none of the fuss! A great opportunity for adults and children to play and interact under caregivers' supervision. Drop in to socialize with other families and play with toys reserved just for this age group. We provide the toys and clean up the mess, and you need only to provide the energetic youngster!

Hands On With Virtual Reality Join us at the library for an introduction to Virtual Reality and get a chance to try out the library’s new Virtual Reality headsets with a brief demo! Headsets and time for demos will be limited based on the number of attendees. Attendees will need to provide their own cell phone and download the Google Cardboard app (for Android or iPhone) prior to the program. The program will run for one hour. For participants ages 7 and up.

Cross Lanes Book Discussion Group The Cross Lanes Library Book Group will be discussing "The Home Front" by Kristin Hannah and WV Book Festival author, Patricia Harman's latest book "Runaway Midwife". Family Mixed-Media Art Workshop What better way for families to celebrate November as Picture Book Month than by creating their own mixed-media art in celebration of beloved picture books? Local artist Debi Ellis (https://www.debiellis.com/) will help your family create your own masterpiece using paint and collage materials. Work together and have fun! Limited to 15 families with children ages 5 & up. Registration opens on October 23.
