Choose a cool peace prize for participating. All submissions will be displayed during the Holiday Open House. A grand prize for both writer and illustrator will be drawn at random on Dec. 9, 2019.

Young Writers and Illustrators Workshop Children in grades kindergarten through sixth are invited to a writing and illustrating workshop. After listening to some Coretta Scott King award winning books and looking through their beautiful illustrations, children will have time to work on their own writings and drawings about peace. Stories and illustrations may be entered in the "I Love Peace Writing and Illustrating Event" which is honoring the 50th Anniversary of the Coretta Scott King Book Award. All entries will receive a cool peace prize. All submissions will be displayed during the Holiday Open House. Registration begins October 22.

Intro to True Crime Podcasting Emily Nestor is the host and creator of the popular podcast "Mile Marker 181," which examines the suspicious death of Jaleayah Davis. Emily will give us a glimpse behind-the-scenes of true crime podcasting. She will share how she grew up with an interest in true crime, the inspiration for her podcast and how she got involved, how others can create their own podcasts and get started with citizen investigating, and future plans for other cases. There will be a Q&A following the presentation.
