The Foreign Policy Association's Great Decisions Discussion 2018 Join us the third Monday of each month through November for the Foreign Policy Association’s Great Decisions Discussion. This national program is designed to engage citizens in learning about the world, and it emphasizes discussion and active participation from those attending. Each participant gets briefing books that feature impartial, thought-provoking analyses on eight issues of concern to U.S. policymakers today and will then be asked to report, either individually or as part of a group, on a specific topic. This month's topic is Global Health: Progress and Challenges. Everyone welcome.

PALS Book Club This book club was formed especially for seniors by Highmark PALS (People Able to Lend Support) in order to bring older adults together for a literary challenge and social interaction. The groups meet once a month except in December. If you are eligible for Medicare, are interested in making new friends and enjoy discussing new books, contact your local library for more information. This month's title is "Dark Matter" by Blake Crouch. Please note that the group does not meet in December.

Healthy Holiday Eating Are the holidays a stumbling block to keeping good eating habits or do you feel left out while everyone else eats the “good stuff?” April Simpson from the West Virginia University Extension Service has a four part plan to leave you feeling positive about your holiday celebrations. Participants will look at techniques to maintain weight over the holiday. The group will look at portion sizes and control. April will show how to swap out healthy alternatives that still satisfy. Lastly the group will look at how to stay active during the holidays even as the holiday calendar gets booked up. Registration is required and begins November 5.

Drop in to socialize with other families and play with age appropriate toys. We provide the toys and clean up the mess, and you need only to provide the energetic youngster!
