Holiday Decoration Exchange Do you have some holiday decorations that you no longer use? Need something new to add to your holiday displays? If you have too many decorations, bring some in. If you need some decorations, please help yourself.

Dimensional Embroidered Christmas Ornament In this hand embroidery class, participants will learn how to make bullion roses, the foliage stitch and French knots. Finishing technique will also be taught. All materials will be provided, though participants are asked to bring a pair of scissors. Class size is limited. Registration required. Registration begins November 26 .

Book Lovers Unite: a book discussion group Join the new book group that meets at the Riverside Public Library! The group will meet on the second Monday of each month at 6 p.m. The first discussion will be "The Unquiet Grave" by Sharyn McCrumb. An Afternoon in the Appalachian Wasteland It’s no secret that West Virginia is known for its wondrous beauty. But what if WV was a wasteland filled with all sorts of strange unknown creatures? Come out and explore a demo of what WV might look like in a post-apocalyptic setting. Many well-known WV locations will be showcased like The New River Gorge, The Greenbrier, State Capitol, Camden Park and many more! Come and see WV in a different way! Attendees will experience and view a rated M game, so this event is only open to adults.

Healthy Holiday Eating Are the holidays a stumbling block to keeping good eating habits or do you feel left out while everyone else eats the “good stuff?” April Simpson from the West Virginia University Extension Service has a four part plan to leave you feeling positive about your holiday celebrations. Participants will look at techniques to maintain weight over the holiday. The group will look at portion sizes and control. April will show how to swap out healthy alternatives that still satisfy. Lastly the group will look at how to stay active during the holidays even as the holiday calendar gets booked up. Registration is required and begins November 29.
