BookMyne™

Now KCPL users can use BookMyne™ on their iPhones to search our collections and manage their library accounts. With BookMyne you will find many of the features that are already familiar to our e-Library users:

  • Get information about music, movies, and books in our collections, including current availability, author biographies, professional reviews, book summaries, and chapter excerpts.
  • Scan product UPC codes with your iPhone's camera to see if whatever catches your eye is available at the library.
  • Place holds on library materials and have them delivered to any of our branch locations.
  • See what you have on hold, checked out or overdue. If you have fines, BookMyne will tell you how much they are and why you owe them.

BookMyne tech tips

BookMyne is produced and maintained by SirsiDynix who makes it available from Android and iOS application stores. It is known to work well on iOS devices, but support for the wide variety of Android versions is limited. If you find the application in your app store we encourage you to give it a try with our library and tell us about your experience.

Using BookMyne with KCPL

After BookMyne users download the application they must find and set their library. All libraries, world-wide, that will work with BookMyne are registered with the application. There is a way to search for your library by name but it doesn't seem to be working well. The best way to find your library is to allow the application to use your location. You can set the search radius in miles from your current location. If you are close to any of our branch locations they will show up in the results list and can be selected as your library.

Anyone with the application can do a general, title, author, subject, or barcode search of our collection. Barcode search requires another free application (ZXing Barcode Scanner) to be installed, but then users can scan the UPC code on the back of a book to see if KCPL has the book. Users may enter their User Id and PIN to get access to My Account functions like placing and managing holds, seeing what you have checked out and may have overdue, as well as renewing materials.
