e-Library Quick Search

KCPL website adds e-books

Kanawha County Public Library recently added a variety of e-books to the Research Tools section of the library’s website. An e-book is identical to the print version of a book and can easily be searched with indices or search boxes. One advantage of an e-book is that individual articles can be printed or e-mailed.

“We’ve chosen 11 titles for our starter collection,” said Elizabeth Fraser, Reference Department Manager. “They include quick reference books for business people, students, people who have questions about a medical condition and so forth.” Patrons may access the resources from the library, home or school, logging in with their library card number.

The titles that are currently in the collection include:

Arts & Music

Encyclopedia of Popular Music, 4th ed.Encyclopedia of Popular Music, 4th ed.—Over 27,000 total entries – from Bing Crosby to Crosby, Stills and Nash; from the Shangri Las to Nirvana; from Bob Marley to Johnny Cash. Larkin has expanded his encyclopedia, which talks about groups and types of music. Not just rock and roll: comprehensive coverage of popular music of all genres and times, including jazz, country, folk, rap, musicals, world music, and more! There is also a song index to find every song mentioned.
