Finding government information, let alone government information online can be a challenge. That's why the librarians at KCPL have put together the following guide of helpful resources that cover federal, state, and local government. Though this list is by no means complete, we think it highlights some very valuable and often used web sites and documents related to questions dealing with our government.

FirstGov – FirstGov is designed to be the first place to look for government information. This user friendly site has a series of the most common subject areas as well as a search engine.
Federal Government Agency Directory – List of executive, legislative and judicial branch agencies as well as independent and quasi-independent agencies. Keyword searching is possible here.
Index of Government Agencies and Departments – Information on federal government departments and agencies including staff and addresses.
FedStats – Go here to find statistics from hundreds of federal agencies
