Make reading part of your summer
KCPL offers programs for all age groups, but our Summer Library Club for kids is particularly important. In addition to being lots of fun, Summer Library Club encourages our younger patrons to maintain their reading skills over the summer.
Studies show that children who participate in summer reading clubs are better prepared when school starts in August. When children develop strong study skills and a love of reading, they build a foundation for success in school and later in life.
If the economic situation has your family staying closer to home this summer, KCPL offers budget-friendly options with free books, movies, music and programs, including lots of information on day or weekend trips. Ask for more information at your local branch library.
