Current Reads: A Summer Reading Club Just for Teens

Teens, earn prizes by reading anything you want this summer during the Current Reads Teen Summer Reading Club. You have until August 30 to complete the program by reading or listening to just seven books.

The rules are simple:

  • Check out materials on your reading level from your local library
  • Fill out the entry form inside or on our website

Read or listen to a total of seven books. To earn a prize, fill in the entry form enclosed, or log your entries online.

West Virginia Reads 150

In celebration of West Virginia's Sesquicentennial, Kanawha County Public Library joins the West Virginia Library Commission, West Virginia Center for the Book and other libraries across the state for the West Virginia Reads 150 reading challenge. This program encourages reading in the community while honoring the state's 150th birthday.

Form your team of up to 15 members to read a total of 150 books throughout 2013. Choose a team name and select one team leader to keep track of books read by the team. Team members report each book read to the team leader.

All ages can participate. Books must be read between Jan. 1 and Dec. 31, 2013. more information...
