Hotel Kanawha, Charleston, W. Va.

The Hotel Kanawha was built in 1903 and served as a one of Charleston's premier hotels. Three sitting presidents stayed there and the Kennedy Campaign had its headquarters there. In 1965 the hotel became the Job Corp headquarters, a youth education and training program. The Job Corp remained there until 1997. Despite attempts to save the building, it was demolished.
