Elk Valley Branch Library

Type: STEM
Age: Children, Elementary 6-11 Years
Topic: Astronomy & Space, Science, STEM

Come and enjoy West Virginia Science Public Outreach Team's (WV SPOT) presentation on space! Learn how the Sun gives us so much more than light--without the Sun, we wouldn't have seasons, weather, or life at all. How do NASA and the Green Bank Observatory study the Sun? How does the Sun's activity affect our "space weather?" After the presentation, we will participate in a couple of related activities: make a pocket solar system and size up the moon! Registration required, recommended for ages 5 and up.
